Dr. Kehr  has extensive background in traumatic brain injury cases, and post-traumatic stress conditions involving depression, anxiety and social withdrawal. He has testified in court or been deposed over 40 times, yet his expert testimony represents a small fraction of his practice. He utilizes the latest Web-based medical research to buttress his opinions. Dr. Lyerly  has expertise in child custody evaluations. Barbara Kehr  works with clients who face challenging issues during all phases of separation, divorce, and life following a divorce; and provides counseling and therapy to clients facing other legal challenges.

What is a Psychiatric Expert Witness?
Psychiatrists are often called to be expert witnesses in both criminal and civil proceedings. Expert witnesses give their expert opinion about a specific issue. Sometimes the expertise is sought in an effort to provide the best possible information to judges or juries, but attorneys or other parties may also request consultation. A psychiatric expert may be involved in diagnosing and treating clients who have sustained a traumatic brain injury due to an automobile accident or workplace injury, experienced a traumatic event leading to post-traumatic stress disorder, and various issues surrounding marital separation and divorce including child custody evaluations.
